Queens Award for Voluntary Service

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Garioch Community Kitchen has been honoured with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary organisation can receive in the UK.

We are one of only 241 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award this year. We are extremely proud to have been recognised.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups to benefit their local communities.

This award has been achieved due to the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Garioch Community Kitchen.  It is a fantastic achievement and we would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to all the Volunteers, Organisations and Individuals who have supported us over the years as well as through the pandemic.

Further to the fantastic news we shared earlier Garioch Community Kitchen has also received an additional special designation to the QAVS award. This special recognition is for providing impactful support to the community in response to the pandemic last year – either by managing a significant increase in their usual work or providing extra support in other ways. We are grateful for the help and ongoing support of all our stakeholder groups especially our volunteers, without who we would be unable to the work we do and deliver services to our community.
